The national coach, Hugo Broos, and his foals arrived in the capital of Equatorial Guinea around 8.45 pm yesterday, 5 January 2017, from Yaounde.
The Cameroon national team is returning to a country where, a year ago, month after month, it had only participated in the first round of the 20th African Cup of Nations. For the second stay in Equatorial Guinea in one year, the indomitable Lions have changed their hotel. Yesterday they packed their bags at Sofitel Sipopo, located far from the city center.
From January 6 to 9, 2017, coach Hugo Broos and the 23 players on the final list for Gabon 2017 will prepare this competition in secret. Training sessions are scheduled alternately at the Malabo National Stadium and the Rebola Stadium. No evaluation match is on the lions’ menu during their stay in the country of the Nzalang Nacional.
Before heading to Libreville in Gabon on Wednesday (January 11th) for the 21st AFCON, the Indomitable Lions will return to Yaounde for a farewell match before their audience at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Tuesday 10 January against Zimbabwe. This friendly meeting will take place at night from 8:30 PM. In Libreville, Cameroon plays its inaugural match of AFCON 2017 precisely at night on Saturday January 14 against Burkina Faso.
