Cameroon’s national team begins preparations for the next AFCON on 2 January 2017 in Yaounde.
The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has uncovered two African selections for the preparation of the Indomitable Lions for an honorable participation in AFCON 2017 in Gabon. “Cameroonians will face the DR Congo on January 5, then Zimbabwe five days later, in Limbe. They will also leave for a few days in Equatorial Guinea, ” said a source from FECAFOOT.
For the moment, coach Hugo Broos continues his prospecting in Europe to form the best team possible for this continental competition. It must be said that since 2002, the indomitable Lions no longer make a good impression on the continent. FIFA’s end-of-year ranking also places Benjamin Moukandjo and his teammates in the 65th position, the worst in the history of the indomitable Lions.
Cameroon has a chance to improve this ranking from the beginning of 2017 with the AFCON in Gabon. But many observers are skeptical about the latest performances of the national team and the atmosphere around it. Seven pre-summoned players have already declined the invitation.
