The tickets will cost between 500 and 40,000 FCFA with different rates for the opening ceremony on Saturday January 14 in Libreville (from 2,000 to 20,000 FCFA), specifies the Organizing Committee.
The sale of tickets for the 32nd African Cup of Nations of football matches in Gabon (AFCON-2017) in January-February will start on Thursday, the Organizing Committee (COCAN) said on Wednesday. The tickets – 500,000 in total according to a COCAN spokesman – will be on sale in the perceptions and treasuries of the four host cities, Libreville, Franceville, Port-Gentil and Oyem, we learn.
After the opening ceremony, Gabon will face Guinea-Bissau, then Cameroon will face Burkina Faso on the pitch of the stade de l’Amitié (40,000 seats), which will also host the final on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
If the preparations for this great mass of African football are going well, the Gabonese authorities note some concerns in the city of Oyem. According to the local press, this last city in the north of Gabon inspires some concerns to the organizers. Last weekend, Sports Minister Nicole Asselé was concerned about the delays in the completion of the new stadium with 20,000 seats.
On Wednesday, the Union newspaper was worried about the state of the road between Oyem and Bitam, 50 km further north near Cameroon. “Two teams will be lodged in Bitam and must therefore make shuttles to rally Oyem for the matches,” recalls the Gabonese newspaper. These are Morocco and Togo, which will share a hotel in Bitam.
