The Strike that started yesterday as “peaceful” took a different turn yesterday evening in Bamenda, the capital city of the North West region. a 100% anglophone region.
Many people called on the Chairman of the SDF, the main opposition party of the country, to come and calm down the protesters. After the long awaited presence of the “president of Bamenda“, he finally came today. But surprisingly, he was asked by the protesters to go back home. Some people said his time was even over, and some asked him to go back to Paul Biya, his accomplice.
It should be noted that Bamenda is still on fire as many shops are closed, and no taxi is free to move. Roads have been blocked. Inhabitants are all indoors and people roaming the streets are military men and some youths who are even smoking drugs on broad daylight.
