The inhabitants of the western part of Yaounde have woken up on Wednesday 16 November 2016 that the road that leads to Etoudi, the district where the presidential palace is located, was blocked by two buses.
However, civil servants, students and other users found it difficult to engage in activities in this part of the city. This important axis of the administrative capital was blocked by a hundred of employees of the former bus company “Tic Le Bus“.
On the placards brandished by the demonstrators, it is reported that they demanded from the Government the payment of 18 months of wage arrears and their social rights. “Tic Le Bus“, which began in 2006 with about 40 buses in Yaounde alone, fell into bankruptcy about three years ago because of mismanagement and misunderstanding between partners.
