For two months of accelerated training, it will cost 300,000 FCFA. These measures will take effect as from January 2017. The ordinary congress of the national trade union of the operators of this sector of activity which took place on November 11, 2016 made it possible to harmonize the fees.

This information is relayed by the daily newspaper Le Jour of 15 November 2016. From the ordinary congress of the national union of operators of the transport sector, it emerges that the driving school will now cost 250 000 FCFA for four months of classical training. And 300,000 FCFA for two months of accelerated training. These measures which were taken during the ordinary congress of the national trade union of the operators of this sector of activity will be effective from next January. It must be said that the foundations of last November 11 made it possible to harmonize the cost of the formation subject of many discords in Cameroon.

Ngah Messobo François, national president of the trade union of the operators of the driving schools of Cameroon said on this subject: “before we had 10 hours of practical courses and 20 hours of theoretical courses. This training cost 150,000 FCFA. Presently we go from 10 hours to 20 hours and from 20 hours to 40 hours. This is why the training prices have been adjusted. We have set up a training contract that links the learner to the driving school. This contract shows the duration of the training and the hourly volume. If this contract is not respected, the learner is free to cite the driving school in court “. The daily stresses that the measures are not insignificant. They are in fact the fruit of a certain reality to which juries are usually confronted.

We have candidates who can not read or write French or English but are eligible for the exam with 37/40. We have juries that are incapable of driving, but they have to evaluate the candidates. These measures are therefore aimed at finding solutions to all these observed shortcomings. If these measures are respected, there will be fewer accidents on our roads, “explained Thomas Noubondie, General Secretary of the union.

In addition, it should be noted that for the different categories of license, the candidate will now pay for the category A license granted to motorcycles and mopeds, 75 000 and 100 000 FCFA. For the category B license granted to passenger vehicles, it is necessary to disburse 250 and 300,000 F.Cfa, for the License C and D granted to the goods vehicles and to the public transport, it will disburse the sum of 300,000 FCFA For two months of training. And for license E for trailer vehicles they will pay 400,000 FCFA for a month of training.
