The ranking made by the Legatum Institute was published last week.
Legatum Institute released its ranking of the 2016 Legatum prosperity index. This is actually an index that annually assesses the level of prosperity of states worldwide. The daily Le Jour edition of the November 7, 2016 reports the results of this ranking. It appears that Cameroon occupies the 18th place of the most prosperous African countries in the continent, and the 127th position globally. The criteria on which the judgment is based are new. They cover the areas of education, health, governance, security and safety, “economic quality“, individual freedom, social capital and environment.
However, it must be said that this year, 149 countries are screened for review by Legatum Institute. Internationally, the States considered the most prosperous in the world are New Zealand, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and Canada. The 10th place ranking is occupied by the United Kingdom, in 11th place is Germany, the United States is at the 17th position and France in the 18th. In terms of the BRICS countries, South Africa is in the lead in the 48th spot. This country is followed by Brazil, which is in the 52nd place China in the 90th, Russia is at the 95th position, and India occupies 104th place.
