Beyond repairing of the stands and lawn, lighting is one of the main axes of the work being completed at the Hamadou Ahidjo stadium.
Chosen to host the opening match and the final of the women AFCON on 19 November, the Yaounde Omnisport stadium already has the final face it should have. The matches to be completed before 6:00 PM are now a distant memory. The lighting was redone, and the four towers sparkle after dark. Currently, it is every night that the tests are performed to detect potential breaches before the start of the women AFCON.
The first great test will take place next Sunday, October 30, 2016, during the final of the Cup of Cameroon, by the President and Head of State, Paul Biya, in the presence of emissaries of CAF. The latter will certify the reliability of the stadium, including the lawn, and the capacity of Cameroonian authorities to manage the flow of fans.
