The final of the 57th edition of the Cameroon football cup will take place on October 30, at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Omnisports stadium in Yaounde, under the chairmanship of the Head of State, Paul Biya. The announcement was made by Pierre Ishmael Bidoung Mkpatt, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education. According to him, this final should serve not only as opening ceremony of the new stadium, but also the ultimate rehearsal before the opening match of the Women Africa Cup of Nations as Cameroon will host from November 19 to December 3 this year.
The Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium is indeed chosen to welcome the matches of Group A of the AFCON where the Indomitable Lionesses are housed alongside Egypt with whom they will play the first match of the competition, South Africa and Zimbabwe. However, the infrastructure repair work launched in October 2015 has not yet been delivered. Something to put additional pressure on workers and companies working to give a new shine to this stadium, so that they can complete the various projects within a period of one month at the latest.
For the record, we do not yet know the identity of the two finalists. The four teams qualified for the semi-finals have not yet played. The matches are planned to go on this September 28 including in Garoua, the clash between Coton Sport and Bamboutos Mbouda, and in Mbalmayo, the duel between Apejes Mfou and International Sporting Douala. The return phase is set at 1 October.
