The Secretary General of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education promises that members of the Blind Football Selection will be paid no later than October 1, 2016.

The players of the national team of Blind Football, the team of blind and visually impaired of Cameroon again went to reclaim the bonuses they had been promised during the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Douala Cecifoot 2015. Tired of waiting they on 21 September 2016, went to the Ministry of sports and physical education for another sit-in. “We are tired of all the waiting. That is why today we came here. ” As in December 2015 they left empty-handed.

When asked by Canal 2 International, the secretary general of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education Oumarou Tado explained that the bonus payment procedure is already engaged. It remains for the ministry to release the sums requested. He even promises that the players will be paid no later than 1 October.

According to Oumarou Tado, the accused delay is due to the fact that the sports ministry had not included the bonuses in its budget.

It’s a competition that was not in the calendar of competitions held by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education. The minister against his will got to pay these bonuses to recognize the importance of this event, and the level reached by these children to encourage them. The good commitment has been made and I think the athletes were reassured this morning.

Each players expect  just over 10.6 million CFA Francs.
