The new General Manager of the national airline thinks that CAMAIR-CO can still fly.
The new CAMAIR-CO leaders won’t really have time to pop the champagne. Ernest Dikoum and Mefiro Oumarou have been appointed as GM and President of the Board of directors yesterday August 22, 2016 during a Board of Directors meeting held at the company’s headquarters in Yaounde. Immediately installed after construction, the lucky ones will have no observation period.
In addressing them, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o, the Minister of Transport said:
“I ask you to make every effort so that the national company act in compliance with safety rules issued by the Civil Aviation Authority and the Organization of International Civil Aviation. And to carry out this work, I recommend working closely with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Authority, ” as written in La Nouvelle Expression (LNE) on newsstands August 23, 2016.
“Of course, you can rely on the advice of the Minister Mefiro Oumarou, who is your President of the Board (…) The Minister of Finance, who is at the financial supervision, and I at technical supervision, will spare no effort to support you and bring you our full support in your new assignments, but also to remind you of the price that the entire Cameroon attaches to the smooth running and CAMAIR-CO’s adjustment “, assured the Minister.
The new DG believes that the challenge can be met.
“The immediate challenges are known. I think we should first try to put the staff in confidence because it’s from the people we can have results. There are problems, as we know. They are identified, and I think that if everyone works together, as the minister said earlier, guardianship, the Aviation Authority, I think the results will follow. This is our national treasure, we should all work to meet the challenges, “said Ernest Dikoum.
