The Indomitable Lions now occupy the 53rd place in the world rankings and take the 7th place on the African list.
The International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) released this Thursday 14 July 2016, its ranking of July. Ranked 58th in June, Cameroon goes back to the 7th in Africa and 53th worldwide, behind Algeria (32nd), Côte d’Ivoire (35th), Ghana (36th), Senegal (41), Egypt (43rd) and Tunisia (45th).
In the world rankings, nothing has changed in the top five made up of Argentina (1), Belgium (2), Colombia (3rd), Germany (4th) and Chile (5th). Portugal, new European champion gained two places and finds itself sixth in the standings. It is followed by its final victim of the Euro, France, that wins ten places and integrates the top 10. Spain (-2), Brazil (-2) and Italy (+ 2 ) complete the top 10. The spectacular comeback is, the Wales of Gareth Bale, semifinalist of Euro that wins 15 places in the rankings and ends up 11th.
